Here, I’m penning down the experience I had while working and using email applications to interact with Indian and overseas clients, especially from Android handsets. Gmail has been ranked as the top used email applications but when the Gmail data breach took place after that it’s not the best for those who want to keep their emails safe as in-between sender and the recipient. ProtonMail is the best alternative application if you are looking for any app the same as of Gmail. Not only this but also its advanced features make it’s the perfect match for Gmail like setting timers to self-destruct the emails after sending and protecting emails with passwords from non-ProtonMail users.
- Microsoft Outlook
Here comes the turn of widely used email android application, Outlook. I hope you all have heard about this application of Microsoft. One of the easiest and convenient android application to communicate with clients or in general. It allows you to manage your accounts comfortably due to its clean, clear, and friendly interface. These easy features made this android application best and crossed around 100 million downloads on Google play store.
In comparison to other emails, it’s easier to sync all of your email accounts at a time in one place. It lets you quickly and comfortably manages your email accounts with ease. It offers frequent updates in the app which makes users disappoint sometimes but other than this if you want an easy and reliable option in email application then this is the best choice for you.
In India, Gmail is the most widely used application which comes by default in Android handsets. The reason behind the popularity of this application is its easy to go features and friendly UI which helps you to maintain a record of your emails with different labels or multiple accounts in a single application. You can organize your folders in the inbox and avoid getting promotional emails in important emails.
Add to that, you can manage multiple accounts and services from other providers in this as well. There are several other features that make it the most commonly used application like customization of notifications, bookmarking of emails, group discussions, integration with Google hangouts, and offline access along with free storage of 15GB. To maintain the top rank, this application keeps regulating updates to make it more convenient like its smart reply feature, while typing it suggests the response. Thanks to Android for introducing this email app by default, it offers 15 GB of cloud storage; this makes it superior to other email providers.
- Blue Mail
One of the leading email applications is BlueMail which has advanced features in dozen, BlueMail is a good tool to select if you are looking for the best email android application. The best feature of this app is it allows you to sync multiple accounts not only with one provider but with all of your providers in UI with an extensive range of visual customizations. It also has a provision for IMAP, MS Exchange, and provides you timed lock screen so that you can keep your private mails safe.
In addition to this, as I mentioned above regarding issues faced by me during my client interactions through emails, this application solved one more issue of getting notifications of all clients at a time but with different types of formats so that you will not get confused with all mails. So, if you are looking for something like this to manage multiple accounts and their notifications with the proper format then Blue mail is the right choice.
- Aqua Mail
Aqua Mail is an excellent email app for Android which comes with a variety of features for multiple email providers to set up easily such as Gmail, Yahoo, Apple, and Hotmail, etc. This app offering an exclusive range of widgets and you can avail the option of syncing with the calendar and contact.
Aqua Mail is a proven email app for Android but to access all of its features you need pro version, so this may affect its usage but its customizing features, couple of themes, dark mode, and attaching separate signatures in all email accounts part can overcome that version concern.
- Email TypeApp
Everyone looks for an app that should support email protocols and services like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. This beautifully designed Android app TypeApp will fulfill this requirement and allow you to manage your multiple accounts and correspondence mails with a single customization feature. This is easy to use and comes with the spontaneous design.
Moreover, it offers a range of efficient features like push notification, day and dark modes, syncing contact/ calendar, and group mailing, and top of that you can use it with WearOS devices as well. This is could be the best app free to download and no such in-app or any ads in between but its re-occurring bugs while managing more than one account creates a problem, for users and you should give try sometimes it goes well in the first-hand experience.
- Newton Mail
Gmail and native apps are difficult to beat due to their feasibility but Newton Mail has come up as a powerful email client and the superior option to replace Gmail’s native app. Along with Android, this is also available for iOS, macOS, etc. Newton Mail is better due to its smart UI, latest features, searching capabilities, and cross-platform abilities. It also offers integration of various tools which will further help you in client communication and work such as Trello, OneNote, and Zendesk. You can set a unique passcode to protect your inbox for confidential data.
I tried this app to experience the difference and found this app exclusive and feature-rich for Android users, and this makes it a worthy application to subscribe, it also offers a free trial period of 14 days to explore the features and if found it feasible then pay for the subscription. But don’t expect further updates in the same as Newton has officially closed now.
- Email by Edison
As far as I have used this email to communicate with my clients, I found this the most reliable email android application. Although all providers support multiple access of accounts as compared to those, in this you can manage unlimited accounts with configurable swipe controls, real-time notifications, and many more auto-sorting kind of features.
The best feature of this email app is that it providers key info of particular mail like attachments without opening that mail. You can search for the content without wasting time in local folders. This email; has been featured in smart watches (Google’s WearOS) as well.
- K-9 Mail
The leading open-source email client K-9 mail is available as a free android application, independently supporting multiple accounts. This email app offers not only excellent features like multi-folder sync, filing, signatures, IMAP push email also it’s lightweight as in comparison to others. In my opinion, this is the simple app offering the necessary features only which avoids confusion too of using multiple features but yes for some this could be the overly simple application and can be proved disappointing at the same time due to its dull interface and lack of advanced features.
One more email provider for Android is myMail, quite reliable, and can be managed smoothly. You can regulate all email accounts at a time as it offers support to all major email providers. The concerns mentioned before this list is more or less can be satisfied by this email application.
This app provides customizable notifications in real-time, will confine data for sending/receiving an email, and with improved smart search functionalities. Though myMail is satisfying a lot of concerns still it is not a highly-featured email in the market. The best feature of this email could be its clutter-free UI and extremely clean as well which will be difficult to find in a few other apps available.
So, which email Android application would you choose?
After gathering data and exploring the apps ranked in the top 10, I tried listing these 10 email Android applications, and to answer this question that which app is best for you is completely depends upon your purpose of using that mail. Let’s say if you have to just transfer important documents or have to communicate in general with clients or friends then Outlook, Gmail apps are the best and almost all Android smartphones offer pre-installed Gmail applications.
On the other hand, if you are looking for advanced features along with the security of your data and mails then other email clients such as Blue Mail, Newton, and Email by Edison are good to go. But as I said it’s your choice and solely depends upon your purpose to use it.
